The Reason for Founding  AMOM school

Why We Founded Our School

We founded the Acupuncture and Massage School of Oriental Medicine with a simple but powerful mission:
To make high-quality, traditional and modern healing education accessible and affordable to everyone.

Our vision was born out of both necessity and passion. In Michigan, there was a clear void—no institution offered a complete Oriental medicine education that respected the depth of Eastern healing while integrating it with Western massage techniques. Many people in our community were looking for alternative treatments after conventional medicine had failed them. At the same time, many aspiring healers wanted to study these ancient methods but were discouraged by high tuition fees or the lack of local programs.

We understood this because we’ve been there ourselves. We’ve seen loved ones turn to acupuncture, cupping, guasha, herbal therapy, and massage as their last hope—and find healing. We’ve felt the power of these methods in our own bodies. And we’ve met countless students with the heart and dedication to learn, but without the financial means to travel out of state or pay exorbitant tuition.

That’s why we decided to act.

From the beginning, our goal was to build a school rooted in service, culture, and community. We didn’t want just another program—we wanted a home where students would feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow not just as professionals, but as people.

We believed a truly great school needed to do more than just deliver lectures or hand out certificates. It should:

  • Teach healing arts in the spirit of tradition, while adapting to modern healthcare needs.

  • Offer hands-on clinical practice, so students develop real confidence and experience.

  • Provide affordable tuition, with flexible plans and scholarships for those in need.

  • Foster a tight-knit community where students support one another and faculty truly care.

And we made it happen.

We combined the best of Eastern and Western traditions, offering classes in acupuncture, massage, cupping therapy, reflexology, guasha, moxibustion, herbal medicine, and more. We built a clinic where students can practice under supervision, helping real clients while learning from real cases. We made our programs accessible—with flexible schedules, online class options, and payment plans so students from all backgrounds could attend.

We are proud to be the first and only Oriental medicine-based massage therapy school in Michigan, and we’re just getting started.

Our school is more than a building or a business. It’s a place of hope—for students who want a better future, and for patients who want relief when nothing else has worked. It’s a bridge—connecting East and West, tradition and science, teacher and student, healer and client. It’s a legacy—one we’re committed to protecting and passing down.

We founded this school because we believe healing is not just a technique—it’s a calling. It’s a commitment to touch lives, one person at a time. And that starts with education rooted in heart, discipline, culture, and compassion.

“This school changed my life. I came here looking for a new direction and ended up finding a second family. The training was hands-on and deeply rooted in real Eastern medicine. Now, I work here full-time helping other students succeed. I believe in our mission because I’ve lived it.”
